The first thing you want to do is add your name to the list of speakers in the “Public Speakers” database. You’ll only have to do this once, as your name will be associated with to your events when you add them to the calendar. So, I’ll make this paragraph of instructions short … that was it.
… Visit the “Add Speaker” page
You’ll probably want to add a “Venue” for your speaking events. Unless you expect to be holding them at one somebody else has posted. Otherwise, who’s going to show up? You’ll have to add one of these for each new place you are scheduled to appear. And, very important here, remember the name you use, so you can find it. Until I get this system to where your Venues are associated with your name only (Which will make it a lot easier to find you!), all of the Venue names will appear in the drop down box when you are setting up your event.
Now (And we should have a drum roll here.), this is what you signed up for! A place to publicize your public speaking events! Enter your event here, and as soon as you have it entered, you’ll be given the opportunity to send an email to the folks you know. (But only if you want to send them one. The system allows you to pick and choose, or totally ignore.) Once you’ve sent your emails to the contacts you already know, we’ll give you the opportunity to send press releases to up to a dozen media contacts in your area, or allow you to download their names and contact information, so you can send them your own press releases.
Okay, that last paragraph is what is supposed to happen, but we’re still working on the press release system. Seems there are a lot of media contacts and the data entry isn’t finished. But go ahead and list your event, the rest of the stuff still works. Just not the free press release system. Sorry.

… News Media Database for press releases is coming. I already explained this one.
